Biographical Information[edit]
Jeff Williams pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.
Williams was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the second round of the 1990 Amateur Draft, and he went 2-1 with a 4.68 ERA for the Frederick Keys while having a 1.59 ERA in 9 games for the Bluefield Orioles in his first year. He notched 6 saves with a 2.70 ERA in 12 games in Frederick in 1991, and he collected another 17 saves with a 2.60 ERA in 39 relief outings for the Hagerstown Suns. Williams stayed in Hagerstown in 1992, and he went 8-10 with a 4.83 ERA as a swingman.
The Kansas native reached AAA in 1993, but he went 2-5 with a 5.76 ERA for the Rochester Red Wings. He then went to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1994, and he had a 8.31 ERA in 3 games for the Albuquerque Dukes. He also pitched 40 games for the Calgary Cannons affiliated with the Seattle Mariners, and he was 3-3 with a 5.56 ERA. Williams had a 8.22 ERA in 8 games for the Tacoma Rainiers in 1995, and he allowed 8 runs in 7 innings in Rochester in 1996. After the Orioles released him, Williams signed with the Brother Elephants of Taiwan. He only pitched 5 games for them, and his ERA was 5.71. He then surrendered 5 runs in 3 1/3 innings for the Carolina Mudcats, and his professional career ended.
