Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Jeff Urgelles was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 26th round of the 2003 amateur draft. With the GCL Reds that summer, he hit .255 and led the Gulf Coast League with 20 doubles. After three seasons in the Reds chain, he ended his playing career in the Toronto Blue Jays system in 2006.

From 2009 to 2016, he was the bullpen catcher for the Florida Marlins and Miami Marlins. In 2017, he was promoted to "bullpen coordinator" but was replaced by Rob Flippo in 2018.
