Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Jeff Pries was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 21st round of the 1981 amateur draft but did not sign, opting for college instead. After attending UCLA, he was then taken by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 1984 amateur draft. He made his pro debut that summer with the Oneonta Yankees and had his finest season the next year, going 11-7 with a 3.83 ERA in 22 starts for the Fort Lauderdale Yankees. He briefly played at the AAA level for the Columbus Clippers in 1986 and overall played four years of minor league ball.

Following his baseball career, Pries became a pastor.
