Biographical Information

Outfielder Jeff Corsaletti reached AA in 2007.

Corsaletti hit .437 as a high school junior and .388 as a senior. He also was a quarterback, throwing for over 2,000 yards his last year. He went on to the University of Florida and hit .313/.406/.482 as a freshman. In his sophomore season, he batted .313/.392/.512 while starting regularly. In his junior campaign, Corsaletti produced at a .323/.409/.446 clip. In summer ball that year, his .448 OBP led the Northwoods League while playing for the Rochester Honkers. He was picked in the 22nd round of the 2004 amateur draft by the Cleveland Indians but did not sign and returned for his senior season.

Corsaletti batted .358/.454/.530 with 68 runs in 70 games as a senior. He helped Florida make the 2005 College World Series and went 5 for 15 in the Series. They made it to the Series finals before losing. Overall in his college career, he hit .331 with 56 doubles, 23 home runs, and 159 RBIs during his four years.

He was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the sixth round of the 2005 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Jon Lukens and made his pro debut that summer with the Greenville Bombers. He hit safely in his first 15 pro games and ended the year with a .357 average, 17 doubles, 4 homers, 26 RBIs, a .490 slugging percentage, and a .429 on-base percentage in 59 games.

Corsaletti was with the Wilmington Blue Rocks in 2006 and hit .264/.400/.414 with 11 home runs, 60 RBIs, and 69 runs scored and led the Carolina League with 97 walks. With the Portland Sea Dogs the next year, he hit .266/.385/.364 with 93 runs, 20 steals in 27 tries, 83 walks, 6 homers and 58 RBIs and was an Eastern League mid-season All-Star.
