The son of big leaguer Galen Cisco, catcher Jeff Cisco played three years of minor league ball. He was selected by the Montreal Expos in the 25th round of the 1984 amateur draft and spent one year in their organization, hitting .227 in 39 games for the Calgary Expos in 1984. He then played two years in the San Diego Padres system with the Charleston Rainbows of the South Atlantic League.

In addition to his father, Cisco's brother (Galen Cisco Jr.) and two of his sons (Mike Cisco and Drew Cisco) played minor league baseball.
