Biographical Information[edit]

Jaynne Bittner pitched in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League from 1948 to 1954. She relied on a fastball and 3-speed, hard-slider.

As a rookie with the Muskegon Lassies in 1948, Bittner posted a 9-9 record with a 2.55 earned run average with the Muskegon Lassies. She was traded to the Grand Rapids Chicks in the following year. As a Chick in 1951, she had 15-8 record, with a 2.95 ERA in 183 innings, over 23 games - leading the team to a second place regular season finish.

Bittner was traded midway through the 1952 campaign to the Fort Wayne Daisies; she would help them win the league's title that year. Her career best was 16-7 win/loss record with a 2.45 earned run average in 209 innings, spanning 30 games in 1953. Also in that year she helped the Daisies win a second consecutive title.

Bittner is a member of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
