Biographical Information[edit]
Jay Bluthardt spent two seasons playing in the minors. He hit .271/~.333/.390 for the 1987 GCL Pirates. The next year, he was 12 for 39 with three doubles and four walks for the Watertown Pirates.
Bluthardt coached in the Pittsburgh Pirates chain in 1992-1994, including the Salem Buccaneers in 1994. He managed the Virgin Islands national team in the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games; despite not having won a game on the international stage in over 30 years, he guided the team to two one-run losses, against Panama and Guatemala.
