Biographical Information[edit]

Jay W. Anderson was the owner and business manager of the Duluth team in the Northwestern League in 1886 and 1887. He was co-owner and manager (with Bill Watkins) of the Duluth Whalebacks in 1891.

He was a prominent businessman in Duluth, MN as the owner of a local brewery. He later suffered financial reversals, losing his fortune, and lived out his last few years with his sister in Saratoga Springs, NY.
