The Duluth Base Ball Association incorporated on December 1, 1885. The club, which did not have a nickname, played in the Northwestern League in 1886 and 1887 until the league collapsed after the 1887 season. Some sources refer to the 1886 team as the Jayhawks and the 1887 team as the Freezers, but neither name appears to have contemporary usage.
