Biographical Information[edit]

Starting pitcher Jason Wheeler began playing in the Minnesota Twins organization in 2012 after being taken by the club in the 8th round of the 2011 amateur draft. He signed for a bonus of $132,000.

With the Beloit Snappers in 2012, he went 14-6 with a 3.45 ERA in 27 starts, earning a spot on the Midwest League Mid-Season All-Star team and the MiLB.com Organization All-Star team. He pitched for the Fort Myers Miracle in 2013 and went 9-4 with a 3.70 ERA in 26 starts. Pitching for the Miracle, New Britain Rock Cats and Triple-A Rochester Red Wings in 2014, Wheeler went 11-9 with a 2.67 ERA in 26 starts.

His brother is infielder Ryan Wheeler.
