Biographical Information[edit]

Jason Repko was a frequently-used backup outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers as a rookie in 2005, appearing in 129 games.

He was a supplemental first-round draft pick by the Dodgers in the 1999 amateur draft after being a first-team All American in high school. He was signed by scout Hank Jones and made his pro debut that summer. Repko moved his way up the Dodger organization, showing impressive numbers in 2004 with the Jacksonville Suns when he hit .291/.341/.466 in 46 games and was moved up to the Las Vegas 51s the same season for 75 games, hitting .311/.355/.493.

In 2005, he had 8 more games in Las Vegas, hitting .387 with 3 home runs, and spent the rest of the season with the Dodgers. In 2006, he was again briefly in Las Vegas, but appeared in 69 games with the Dodgers, hitting .254. He missed nearly half the season due to an injury to his ankle. He missed all of the 2007 season because of the injury, then only appeared briefly in the majors in 2008 and 2009, logging 32 games in all.

He was released by the Dodgers at the end of spring training in 2010, but was immediately picked up by the Minnesota Twins. He returned to the majors in mid-year.

Playing for the Pawtucket Red Sox on September 2, 2012, after having spent some time with the big league Boston Red Sox, Repko made a tremendous catch in left field, jumping high over the fence to rob Kosuke Fukudome of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees of a grand slam, and then flipping over the fence and falling into the bullpen behind it, holding on to the ball all the while.
