Biographical Information[edit]
Jason Middlebrook was 1-1 with a 4.05 ERA in the 1993 World Junior Championship. He took the US's only loss, a 5-1 defeat to Liván Hernández in the Gold Medal Game. He was 0-1 with a 13.50 ERA for Team USA in the 1994 Baseball World Cup. He had the team's worst ERA and didn't make it out of the 1st inning against the Cuban national team. His $750,000 signing bonus after being selected in the 9th round of the 1996 amateur draft was the MLB record for that round until 2011, when Clayton Holmes signed for $1.2 million.
