The nephew of Chris Codiroli, Jason Codiroli made his pro debut in 2008.
He had the worst ERA for team USA in the 2003 World Youth Championship (11.37). At the plate, he was 4 for 11 with a double. Codiroli batted .356 for West Valley Junior College in 2008, with 37 walks and 57 runs in 39 games; he was 25-for-26 in steal attempts. The San Diego Padres took him in the 20th round of the 2008 amateur draft. He was assigned to the AZL Padres and did well, hitting .309/.422/.387 with 15 steals (in 22 tries), 31 walks and 39 runs in 51 games. He was 5th in the Arizona League in walks and 4th in OBP.
