Biographical Information[edit]
OF Jarrett Parker made his major league debut with the San Francisco Giants on June 13, 2015 but only played 21 games for the team in his initial season. One of those was a great one, however, as on September 26th, he hit three homers in a 14-10 win over the Oakland Athletics while driving in 7 runs. It was the third straight game in which he had gone deep. He tagged Barry Zito for a solo shot in the 2nd, then went deep off Drew Pomeranz with a runner on in the 7th, and completed the feat with a grand slam off Ryan Dull that broke a 10-all tie. He hit .347 with 6 homers and 14 RBIs in 21 games, good for an OPS+ of 214, with almost all of his hits coming in September. He was coming off a solid season for the AAA Sacramento RiverCats during which he hit .283/.375/.514 in 124 games, with 25 doubles, 23 homers and 74 RBIs.
In 2016, he played 63 games for the Giants, hitting .236 with 5 homers and 14 RBIs and did not play in the postseason. He also played 53 games for Sacramento, where he hit .273 with 16 homers and 35 RBIs. In 2017, he made the Giants' roster out of spring training, platooning in left field with minor league veteran Chris Marrero. On April 15th, however, he broke his collarbone after running into the fence at AT&T Park while catching a line drive off the bat of DJ LeMahieu in the 4th inning of a loss to the Colorado Rockies.
