Jarret DeHart

Biographical Information[edit]

Jarret DeHart played college ball at the schools noted above from 2014-2017 and majored in marketing. He immediately moved into a coaching role in 2018 as a student assistant coach with the Tulane University Green Wave. After the college season ended, he became a hitting coach for the AZL Mariners in 2018. In 2019, he was a minor league hitting strategist for the parent Seattle Mariners, then in 2020 joined the major league team's coaching staff as an assistant hitting coach. He returned to this latter role in 2021. The next year the Mariners promoted him to hitting coach and Director of Hitting Strategy. DeHart repeated both of these roles with the Mariners in 2023 and 2024, but he was fired on August 22nd along with manager Scott Servais; the Mariners had struggled to put runs on the scoreboard all season and had squandered a substantial early lead.

DeHart is a nephew of Bill Laxton and Will Vespe and second cousin to pitcher Brett Laxton and Josh Laxton.
