Biographical Information[edit]
Brett Laxton is the son of former major leaguer Bill Laxton and the brother of minor leaguer Josh Laxton and cousin of Jarret DeHart. He struck out a record 16 Wichita State University hitters as a freshman during a three-hit complete game shutout in the title game of the 1993 College World Series.
Laxton, a fastball pitcher, had his professional career derailed due to arm injuries. He only made 9 appearances in the majors: 3 in 1999 with the Oakland Athletics and 6 with the Kansas City Royals in 2000. Overall, he went 0-2, 7.86 in 26 1/3 innings. He later pitched in the Chinese Professional Baseball League after having pitched in the independent Atlantic League in 2004 and 2005 with the Camden Riversharks.
