Jansen Visconti

Biographical Information[edit]

Jansen Visconti umpired his first major league game early in the 2018 season as a fill-in umpire. He had been a member of the International League staff since 2014, having previously worked in the Gulf Coast League, the New York-Penn League, the South Atlantic League, the Carolina League and the Eastern League. He worked the 2014 Futures Game. He is a graduate of the Hunter Wendelstedt umpire school and the Jim Evans Academy of Professional Umpiring, doing so while earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Penn State University. He had umpired Little League Baseball as a teenager.

A native of Pennsylvania, he made his major league debut only days after Jeremie Rehak, another native of the same part of the Keystone State.

He was added to the permanent major league umpiring staff in 2020, a very quick promotion as most new umpires need four or five seasons to claim that status.
