Biographical Information

In 1974, Jamie Easterly pitched a perfect game for the Denver Bears in the American Association. He pitched six seasons for the Atlanta Braves from 1974 to 1979, but struggled mightily at the big league level, never posting an ERA below 4.91, and being a combined 8-20, 5.72 for that period. He returned to the minor leagues, and then re-emerged a much more effective pitcher with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1981, when he went 3-3, 3.19 in 44 games and pitched twice against the New York Yankees in the ALDS.

After that season, he stayed in the big leagues until 1987, pitching for the Brewers and Cleveland Indians as a lefty relief specialist, but was also used as an occasional starter. Overall, he played 13 years in the majors, with a record of 15-13, 3.95 in 230 game sin the American League, in contrast to his poor results in the senior circuit.

In 1989, Easterly played for the Orlando Juice of the Senior Professional Baseball Association. He posted a 3.40 ERA and saved 2 games for the club.
