Biographical Information[edit]
James González has pitched in the minors and for the Panamanian national team.
He was signed by the Oakland Athletics. He was 2-3 with a 4.82 ERA for the DSL Athletics in 2019. The 2020 minor league season was wiped out by the COVID-19 pandemic. He was 1-1 with a 2.63 ERA for Panama in the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup, beating South Korea and losing to Cuba. [1]
The David native split '21 between the ACL Athletics (1-0, 1.80 in 8 G) and the Stockton Ports (7 R, 3 ER in 8 IP, Sv). In 2022, he was with Stockton (1-7, Sv, 5.48) and the Lansing Lugnuts (11 R in 8 1/3 IP). Suiting up for Panama in the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he made one appearance for their staff, which did not allow a run in either game in sweeping their way to the 2023 World Baseball Classic (their first World Baseball Classic in 14 years). Relieving Ariel Jurado in the 6th with a 3-0 lead, one out and one on against Brazil. He retired Gabriel Maciel on a fly, then walked Vítor Ito before giving way to Carlos Luna. [2]
