- Died December 12, 1918 in London, England
Biographical Information[edit]
James Cowan played for the Aston Villa baseball club of the National League of Baseball of Great Britain in 1890. He, like majority of the other ballplayers in the league was a soccer player as well. He was known as a speedster, and at one point missed a soccer game to participate in the New Year Sprint competition. The club fined him for this but he had no issue paying it off because he won a good deal of money for winning the competition.
