Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher James Allen has played in the Cincinnati Reds minor league system from 2011 to 2014. He was drafted by the club in the 7th round of the 2011 amateur draft.

After an impressive rookie professional campaign - he was 2-0 with a 1.26 ERA in 22 relief appearances for the Billings Mustangs in 2011, striking out 39 batters in 28 2/3 innings - he has gotten worse each year since, posting a 3.93 ERA for the Dayton Dragons and Triple-A Louisville Bats in 2012 and a 4.86 mark for the Bakersfield Blaze in 2013. Through his first 14 appearances of 2014, all with Bakersfield, he had a 6.47 ERA.
