Biographical Information[edit]
Jake "Guesses" Virtue played his major league career for the Cleveland Spiders, mostly managed by Patsy Tebeau during Virtue's time with them.
Virtue is one of the few left-handed shortstops, having played 5 games at the position. He also is one of the few switch-hitters to ever get 20 triples in a season.
Virtue played for Altoona in 1886.
