Biographical Information[edit]
Jake Northrop had success as a rookie in 1918, going 5-1, but then turned it around in 1919, going 1-5. Although new to the majors in 1918, he was a minor league veteran who had been at Bucknell University from 1907-10 and then had been in the minors.
He pitched a perfect game for Reading in 1911. He had 16 victories for Louisville in 1916. In 1917 he went 20-10 for the Indianapolis Indians. He was traded from Milwaukee to Columbus in mid-season 1921.
