Biographical Information[edit]

Jake Kalish has pitched in the minors. His brother Ryan Kalish played in the majors.

Jake was 1-2 with two saves and a 3.55 ERA as a college freshman, while hitting .241. In 2012, he was 5-2 with five saves and a 3.00 ERA. His junior year, he had a 1-1, 3.52 record before injury cut his season short. In 2014, he was 2-1 with two saves and a 3.03 ERA. In his last year at GMU, he hit .301, taking the field regularly for the first time since he was a freshman and going 5-6 with a 3.44 ERA record on the hill.

The Kansas City Royals picked him in the 32nd round of the 2015 amateur draft; Jim Farr was the scout. That summer, he pitched for the AZL Royals (0-2, 5.40 in 4 G) and Burlington Royals (3-1, Sv, 2.20 in 10 G, 31 K:3 BB in 28 2/3 IP). In 2016, he fared well for the Lexington Legends (Sv, 2.38 in 5 G) and Wilmington Blue Rocks (3-0, 2 Sv, 2.48 in 18 G). He had a 0.92 WHIP for the year.

Kalish pitched for the Israeli national team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic.
