Biographical Information[edit]

Jairo Heredia peaked at AAA and has been on the Dominican national team.

Heredia debuted with the GCL Yankees in 2007, going 2-2 with a 2.72 ERA and 52 K in 46 1/3 IP. He tied Liam Hendriks and Dan Berlind for 7th in the Gulf Coast League in whiffs. For the 2008 Charleston RiverDogs, he went 6-7 with a 3.25 ERA. Had he qualified, he would have been 7th in the South Atlantic League in ERA (he was about 9 innings shy of qualifying). He split 2009 between the Tampa Yankees (2-2, 6.91 in 4 G), Charleston (1-1, 2.37 in 4 G) and GCL Yankees (2 R, 1 ER in 5 IP).

In 2010, he was with Tampa (0-6, 6.93 in 6 G) and Charleston (4-2, 3.45 in 20 G). He battled arm and kidney problems in 2011 but did well with Tampa (8-2, 3.29 in 13 G). [1] He missed all of 2012 as well. Returning in 2013, he appeared for Tampa (3-1, 3.22 in 7 G), the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (2 R in 4 IP) and Staten Island Yankees (1-1, 3.45 in 6 G).

Heredia split 2014 between Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (1-0, 7.53 in 5 G) and the Trenton Thunder (4-1, 3.53 in 10 G), striking out 93 in 85 2/3 innings. He also pitched for the Dominicans in the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games, going 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA (losing to the Nicaraguan national team). [2] He was signed by the Atlanta Braves but they released him before he appeared. He was picked up next by the Los Angeles Dodgers. [3] He split the summer between the AZL Dodgers (0 R in 9 IP) and Tulsa Drillers (1-3, 3.22 in 8 G).
