Jacques Berthoumieux
Jacques Berthoumieux was the first reliever in the history of the French national team, when he took over for Arno Michelucci in a loss to Spain in the 1955 European Championship. He started on the mound in a loss to Italy (François Corso took over) and played short in their other two games, starting one and coming off the bench in the other.
