From BR Bullpen

Arno Michelucci was the starting pitcher in the first three games in the history of the French national team. In the 1955 European Championship, he lost the opener to champion Spain; he was relieved by Jacques Berthoumieux in the 6th inning of a 21-3 loss. Against Belgium, he was again relieved by Berthoumieux in the 6th, this time with a 4-1 deficit in another loss. He nearly beat Germany, losing a 5-4 decision that was tied going into the 9th; he went the distance that contest. The first game he did not start on the hill for France came against Italy as Berthoumieux got the nod.

Michelucci also was with France for the 1962 European Championship. He played for CA Tunis and E.S.O. during his career.
