Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Jake Gatewood was the 41st overall pick in the 2014 amateur draft, taken by the Milwaukee Brewers. The scout was Dan Huston. His signing bonus was $1.83 million. His father Henry Gatewood played in the minors.

He batted .206/.249/.279 with three home runs and 32 RBI in 50 games with the AZL Brewers his first professional season, and followed that with a .244/.305/.404 line with 10 home runs and 57 RBI in 109 games between the Helena Brewers and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in 2015. In 389 at-bats, he struck out 133 times. He began 2016 with the Timber Rattlers and was named a Midwest League Mid-Season All-Star.

He reached Triple A for the first time in 2021.
