Jacksonville Red Caps

From BR Bullpen

The Jacksonville Red Caps were a member of the minor Negro Southern League but for three years the Jacksonville, FL team hit the big time in the Negro American League. In 1938 they were 3-4 in the NAL then moved to Cleveland, OH to become the Cleveland Bears. They returned in 1941 to Jacksonville and went 8-10 under manager Alonzo Mitchell. They were just 2-6 in 1942 when they left the league in July.
