- Died September 1, 1959 in Laguna Beach, CA USA
Jack Norworth began his stage career appearing in blackface on Broadway at the dawn of the 20th century. On a subway train in 1908, he wrote the lyrics for Take Me Out to the Ballgame. Later, he would join the Ziegfeld Follies and appear in movies and television while continuing as a songwriter.
Norworth was elected to the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.
