Personal Remembrance[edit]

Jack Cohen was a righthanded pitcher on the 1954 St. Cloud Rox of the Class C Northern League. St. Cloud was a farm team of the New York Giants. I was also a pitcher on this team. Our manager was Charlie Fox. About halfway through our season, Jack was traded to the Fargo - Moorehead team in the same league. Fargo was a farm team of the Cleveland Indians, and the manager was Phil Seghi. I remember Jack as a Korean War veteran, who was probably just out of military service when he played for St. Cloud. I don't know if he played pro ball prior to military service. Jack had a good strong pitching arm, but I'm not sure of his record as a pro. He probably played further as a pro after his 1954 season in the Northern League.
