Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Jack Boyle played in the majors in 1912. He played in the American Association for one season as a shortstop in 12 games with the Louisville Colonels in 1913, appearing in 38 games combined, while hitting .230 in 61 at-bats with one triple and two stolen bases to his credit for Jack Hayden's third-place team. He is not to be confused with an earlier catcher of the same name, commonly remembered as "Honest" Jack Boyle.
Boyle was a veteran of World War I. He is buried at Hillside Cemetery, a small country graveyard in north-central Wisconsin, eight miles south of US 8 and just east of state highway 13 in Price County and west of the quaint town of Ogema, WI.
