Biographical Information[edit]
John Joseph "J.J." Thobe was in 4 games with the Montreal Expos in 1995, a team managed by Felipe Alou. His brother Tom Thobe also played major league ball, and a third brother, Steve Thobe, got as high as Triple A.
J.J. began his minor league career by going 11-2 for the Columbus Red Stixx in 1993. That year he was the South Atlantic League All-Star right-handed pitcher.
He was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 33rd round of the 1991 amateur draft and then by Cleveland Indians in the 7th round of the 1992 amateur draft.
