Biographical Information[edit]
Ivica Anić was a long-time player in Croatia.
He made the Croatian national team for the 1999 European Championship and allowed one rand two hits in 1 1/3 innings. In the 2001 European Championship, he went 1-0 with a 8.44 ERA (11 BB, 4 H, 3 K, 10 R, 5 ER in 5 1/3 IP) in a team-high four games pitched. He tied Grgur Marušić for the team lead in wins, getting the victory over Sweden. That day, he pitched in between the two American import Vardijan brothers, taking over for Erik Vardijan with a 6-6 tie in the 7th. He pitched two shutout innings before Dan Vardijan closed it out, Croatia having scored twice in the interim. He tied for 2nd in the 2001 Euros in games pitched (even with Andrew Semerow, Marc Cerbone, Claus Hendricks, Dirk Fries and Radek Procházka, one behind Dave Draijer).
He was still active by the 2016 CEB Cup. Pitching for Nada Split in that event, he had a 2.70 ERA in 6 2/3 IP.
