Biographical Information[edit]

Israel Lomeli pitched in the Mexican League and the CPBL.

Lomeli had a 9.23 ERA in 20 appearances for the Oaxaca Guerreros in 2000 but went 3-0, then he recorded a 4.91 ERA in 23 games there in 2001, going 2-5 with a save. He went 7-5 with a 2.45 ERA for the Cancun Langosteros in 2002, then he signed with the Uni-President Lions. However, Lomeli allowed 13 runs in 13 2/3 innings, then he left Taiwan and pitched for the Oaxaca in the next two seasons. In the 2003 Baseball World Cup, he allowed nine walks and eight runs (seven earned) in seven innings for the Mexican national team. He tied Alexei Valialine, Jae-young Lee and Rafael Medina for the lead in walks.

Moving to the Rojos del Aguila de Veracruz in 2005, Lomeli was 1-4 with a 7.64 ERA for them, then his ERA was 5.06 in 32 appearances in 2006 even though he struck out over a batter per inning. He struggled again in 2007 as he had a 5.01 ERA in 10 games for the Rieleros de Aguascalientes, then he went 2-2 with a 5.86 ERA for the Tecolotes de Nuevo Laredo in 2008. Lomeli pitched 33 games for the Tecolotes in 2009 (3-4, 5.05), then he went 0-1 with a 8.64 ERA for the Acereros de Monclova. He had a 5.72 ERA in 18 games with the Delfines de Ciudad del Carmen in 2012, then he announced his retirement.

He had gone 28-35 with a save and a 5.59 ERA in 237 games in the LMB.
