Biographical Information[edit]
Ira Plank was the younger brother of Eddie Plank. He pitched and played outfield in the minor leagues from 1903 to 1916, compiling a 110-107 record and leading the Connecticut League with 26 wins in 1907.
Plank later managed the 1915 Gettysburg Patriots and 1916 Gettysburg Ponies.
Plank was the baseball coach at his alma mater Gettysburg College from 1913 to 1950?. He compiled a 279-175-6 record and was inducted into the Gettysburg Hall of Honor in 1989.
