The Indios de Cartagena were an original team in the Colombian League where they won the inaugural championship in 1948. The Indios played in every season in both the LCBP's first (1948-58) and second (1979-88) incarnations, winning seven titles overall. They returned to the field in 1996-97 but only lasted seven years, being replaced by the Águila de Cartagena. In 2007-08 brothers Jolbert and Orlando Cabrera bought the Tigres de Cartagena and renamed them the Indios. The team went on to lose the championship series that year and were gone again at the end of the season.
