After the Kansas State League folded following the 1906 season, the league champions, the Independence Coyotes, moved to the Oklahoma-Arkansas-Kansas League and became known as the Independence Champs. They finished third in 1907 with a 68-63 record.
The following year, the league became known as the Oklahoma-Kansas League and the team became the Independence Jewelers.
