Biographical Information[edit]

Il-sang Heo played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 4 years.

Heo represented South Korea in the 2001 Asian Championship. The Lotte Giants selected him in the third round of the 2002 KBO draft, and he hit .200/.259/.340 in 42 games in 2002. He played 58 games with a .236/.268/.321 batting line in 2003, then he hit .194/.286/.250 in 27 games in 2004. Heo missed the next two seasons due to military service, and the Giants released him in 2007. The SK Wyverns then signed him, but he only played two games with their big club in 2009 then he retired. He was the battery coach of the Sangmu Phoenix from 2012 to 2014, then he served as SK's minor league battery coach in 2015. He coached for Korea in the 2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup.

Overall, Heo hit .223/.273/.316 with 43 hits and 2 homers in 4 seasons in the KBO.
