Biographical Information[edit]

Ignacio Castro has played for the Peruvian national team.

He was 0 for 4 with 3 whiffs as a 17-year-old in the 2017 Bolivarian Games (though another report showed him as getting one of their two hits against El Salvador), fielding .917 and allowing six steals in six tries while backing up Jorge Pastor at catcher. [1] In the 2019 Pan American Games, he again backed up Pastor, getting into three games. He had 3 putouts, one assist and no errors and no one ran on him. In the opener, he ran for Pastor in the 9th and scored the final run of a 10-3 loss to the Dominican national team when Andrés Hamamoto singled. Starting against Nicaragua, he struck out against Gustavo Martínez and was hit by Ernesto Glasgon in a mercy rule-shortened game. He replaced Pastor in the 4th inning of a 5-inning mercy rule loss to Argentina in the 7th/8th place game and did not get to bat. [2]
