Hyeon-hee Kwak pitched in the KBO for 7 years.
Kwak was drafted by the Haitai Tigers in the 4th round of the 1996 KBO draft, and he missed his next two seasons due to military service. He was 2-0 with a 5.59 ERA in 1998, and he went 11-11 with a 6.15 ERA in 1999. Kwak was the first pitcher in KBO to get 10 wins with an ERA higher than 6, and he also set the KBO record by allowing 31 homers in a season (broken by Young-myung An in 2009). He then went 7-8 with a 4.89 ERA in 2000, and he only pitched 3 games with the big club in 2001. Kwak's ERA was 4.13 in 25 games in 2002, then he only pitched 5 more games for the big club until he announced his retirement in 2004. He later coached in the Tigers system from 2006 to 2016, and he was the strength and conditioning coach for the LG Twins from 2018 to 2019. Kwak moved to the SSG Landers in 2022.
Overall, Kwak was 22-19 with a 5.57 ERA, struck out 265 and pitched 354 innings in 7 seasons in the KBO.
