Biographical Information

Hung-Jen Huang pitched in the CPBL for 2 years.

Huang was selected by the Chinatrust Whales in the third round of the 2006 CPBL Draft, and he stayed in the minor league for a year; he was 2-4 with a 2.08 ERA there. He then pitched 41 games in 2008, and he collected 4 holds and 5 saves with a 3.63 ERA. The Whales were expelled after the 2008 season, and the La New Bears selected him in the special draft. Huang's ERA rose to 6.02 in 19 games in 2009, and he was involved in a game-fixing scandal. The league banned him for life.

Overall, Huang was 7-8 with a 4.51 ERA, struck out 66 and pitched 133 2/3 innings in 2 seasons in the CPBL. His repertoire included a fastball (peak 91.3 mph), sinker, changeup, slider and forkball.
