Biographical Information[edit]

Hun-ki Kim pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization for 4 years.

Kim played for South Korea in the 1985 Intercontinental Cup. The Samsung Lions selected him in the first round of the 1986 KBO draft, and he went 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA in his first season. Kim was 3-5 with a 4.02 ERA in 1987, and he improved to 10-5 with a 2.75 ERA in 1988. He was 5th in ERA (between Sang-kun Lee and Seong-kil Kim) and 9th in wins (tied with Dong-chul Cha, Hyung-cheol Gye, Gil-hwan Lee and Sang-kun Lee). However, Kim suffered from back injury in 1990, and he only pitched 10 games with a 6-1 record and a 4.14 ERA. He announced his retirement after the 1991 season.

Overall, Kim was 19-12 with a 3.44 ERA, struck out 87 and pitched 256 2/3 innings in 4 seasons in the KBO.
