Biographical Information[edit]
Hugh Campbell was the regular pitcher for the hapless Elizabeth Resolutes in 1873. Although he went 2-16, his ERA was an excellent 2.95. The team was terrible at hitting, including Hugh who hit only .149. His brother, Michael Campbell, the team's first baseman, hit only .145. One of the most similar players is Peek-A-Boo Veach, who also had a bad record with a good ERA.
