Biographical Information[edit]

Hsin-Yen Chuang pitched in the CPBL.

Chuang was drafted by the Rakuten Monkeys in the 6th round of the 2019 CPBL Draft, and he had a 5.25 ERA in 10 relief outings in the minors in 2020. He went 2-2 with a 4.80 ERA there in 2021, but he allowed 6 runs in 3 1/3 innings with the big club. Chuang’s ERA was 6.46 in 2022, and he represented Taiwan in the 2022 U-23 Baseball World Cup (going 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA; he beat Japan's Raiku Katayama but lost to South Korea's Jun-ho Lee). He pitched 10 innings for the big club in 2023, but he allowed 14 runs.

Chuang's repertoire included a fastball (peak 93.2 mph) curveball and slider.
