Biographical Information[edit]
Hsien-Cheng Meng was on the Taiwanese national team and in the CPBL.
Meng helped Taiwan win Silver in the 1995 World Junior Championship; he was one of three players from the team to be named All-Stars alongside Cheng-Min Peng and Chih-Wei Shih. [1] He won Bronze with Taiwan in the 1997 Asian Championship and was with them for the 1997 World Port Tournament. [2]
Turning pro with the Taipei Gida, he was 6-5 with a 4.20 ERA in 37 games in the 1998 Taiwan Major League. That was his high point as a pro as he fell to 2-1, 4.70 in 1999 and allowed two runs in three innings in 2000. [3] When the Taiwan Major League merged into the CPBL, he allowed three runs in 3 2/3 IP for the First Financial Agan team in 2003. He had a 5.24 ERA in 14 games in 2004 and a 6.00 ERA in three innings in 2005. Overall, he was 8-6 with a 4.60 ERA in 72 games as a pro. [4]
