Biographical Information[edit]
Horace "Pug" Allen played for the 1919 Brooklyn Robins. An outfielder who played left and center field, Allen backed up Zack Wheat and Hy Myers, two of the stars of the team. Allen was about a decade younger than the two of them. After his major league days, he continued to play baseball in the minors through much of the 1920s, mostly in the South.
Allen was one of the first major league players out of Georgia Tech, attending at the same time as Red Barron.
