Biographical Information[edit]

In his major league debut for the Oakland Athletics against the New York Mets on April 14, 2023, pitcher Hogan Harris gave up 6 runs on just 1 hit but 5 walks and 1 hit batsmen in just a third of an inning. This was part of a game in which the Mets drew 17 walks to set a new team record, on their way to defeating the A's, 17-6. On the other end of the scale, Harris was brilliant on June 13th, when the A's unexpectedly reeled off a seventh consecutive win in defeating the Tampa Bay Rays, 2-1. He took over for opener Shintaro Fujinami, who had pitched a scoreless 1st inning, and reeled off seven innings of four-hit ball during which he did not walk anyone and allowed just one run. He received credit for the win - the second of his career - when Trevor May preserved the victory with a scoreless 9th inning.
