Biographical Information[edit]

Hiroya Kawamitsu pitched for the Japan national baseball team.

Kawamitsu was a star in the Kyushu Kyoritsu University, and led the Fukuoka Six University Baseball League in ERA in 2011. The Okinawa native then made the roster for the 2011 Baseball World Cup. He started 2 games, against USA and Puerto Rico, but allowed 8 runs in 7 innings pitched. He lost to Jeff Marquez and Julio Rodriguez, tying for the event lead in defeats. The Chiba Lotte Marines drafted Kawamitsu in the second round of the 2012 NPB draft. However, Kawamitsu suffered from YIPS, and never made into the NPB.
