Biographical Information[edit]
Herb Herring pitched an inning in the majors leagues in 1912. He gave up no runs. He was apparently a semi-pro player prior to coming to the majors. He is not to be confused with another Herring, Bill Herring, who pitched three innings in the majors in 1915.
". . . Herring, who finished, showed little." - Sporting Life, about Herring's one outing, being unkind given that Herring gave up no runs in an inning of work
"Joe Agler has been returned to the Atlanta Club, and that organization will also develop Clark Griffith's Indian pitcher, Herring. A hook and line are attached to Herring." - Sporting Life, December 7, 1912
